Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the right local company gets your request
- What's wrong: crumbling brick, a leak, a cracked crown, a liner problem, or you need an inspection
- What the chimney serves: oil boiler or furnace, wood or pellet stove, fireplace or water heater
- Whether the house is older or historic, and roughly how tall the chimney is
- If you're buying or selling, your closing date
